The new batteau built by Andrew Shaw and his friends came poling in looking great and was the first to arrive.
Bill Trout was up on the bank overlooking the bridge and boat ramp area. He was having fun speaking with many people who came by his VC&NS table.
The food vendors were busy and the gourmet hot dogs looked incredible.
The batteau Lady’s Slipper looked very nice and arrived in style as usual.
There rest of the batteaux were still up-river and I have no doubt that they will be just fine.
The 36th annual James River Batteau Festival came to an end of a fantastic and beautiful year.
I left Maiden’s in time to get back to Lynchburg before dark and check on my dog.
Now it is time to work on the History of the James River Batteau Festival, Volume 1, for Bill Trout. Please be looking through your scrapbooks and contact me to get together in person as needed. This is really important that we all contribute towards this book. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Many thanks to all the many batteauists for doing a great job of getting down the river, fixing boats and doing what you had to do to make it once again!
