Howard Williams and Diane Easley made it off the river ok. I was worried about their float but they did fine.
The Rockfish River was very muddy from heavy rain up-stream. We got some rain Tuesday night but it wasn’t too bad. The campsite got nice and cool and was good sleeping weather. One canoeist traveling with the festival visited the VC&NS tent during the rain and later on cut very large hard wood during the night and well into the morning.
Tuesday morning the batteaux got going and the Ladie’s Slipper left way before everyone else. They must be looking forward to Scottsville tonight!
Visiting the Scottsville Library, Dr. Bill Trout and Holt Messerly donated a signed copy of Amazing Virginia Canals and an unsigned copy too since they can’t show the signed copy so they will put the signed one into special collections.
Tonight should be a nice event by the river in Scottsville.
