JRBF – Scottsville – Wed. June 20, 2018

The Scottsville site of the 2018 James River Batteau Festival was a little damp after a storm dropped a decent amount of rain. There were some big mud puddles and some children delighted in playing in the mud. The food vendors were along the campsite by the river and included BBQ, smoothies and several other types. There were displays of arrowheads and scented soaps and the VC&NS Publications tent. The JRBF T-shirt tent with Tina were selling lots of shirts and hats etc. Some musicians played and sang old songs and it was nice to hear them.

The sun had come back out and it was getting hot. Gradually the batteaux started to arrive coming around the big bend in the river. The crews wore their good outfits getting ready to hit the town. Many look forward to going to the local places for good food and drink with batteau friends each year.

A storm came up in the early evening and many went on to sleep while many others enjoyed their time in the wonderful town until the night.
