From Randy Waycaster, Capt. of the batteau “Slate River”.
The boat has been in the pond for almost a month and a half, but we pulled it out last week to complete the cap-boards and front/rear decks. Sweep brackets and canopy arches are being made this week. We poled it around the pond this evening, a small but fun trip. We left the barrels in it as a safeguard since it had been drying all of last week, but after two days back in the water the floor is just damp. We’re very pleased with our finished batteau and look forward to bringing a new program to this years festival!
Thanks, see yall soon!
